The Electromagnets EM-30 is simple ‘U’ shaped electromagnets. The air- gap is continuously variable with two way knobbed wheel screw adjusting system and the pole are then locked in any position allowing quick and easy air-gap adjustment to suit individual experiment. Two continuous wound excitation coils are mounted on two poles and are fitted to yoke arms.

These Electromagnets can be used in various demonstration set up.

Various types of pole pieces/caps are available for different application all these are heat Treated, polished and ground finished to attain required precision. A wide range of accessories are available with these standard electromagnets and allow Its use in wide application

• Type TPP-150/50 tapered pole pieces : Pole Pieces tapered to 50mm from 150mm.
• Type ADP-150/10 axially drilled pole pieces : Axially drilled Pole Pieces of 100mm diameter with axially drilled hole of 10mm.
• Type FPC-150 constant H.dH/dX Faraday pole caps : Constant Gradient Faraday Pole Caps of 100mm diameter according to Heyding design for construction of Faraday’s Balance.
• Type SH-150 sample holder : Sample Holder for the above magnet with horizontal and vertical movement.
• Type RTB-150 rotating base : Rotating Base with 360 degrees mark with position locking device and mounting screws.
• Type TR-150trolley : Rolling Trolley for easy movement of magnet, can be locked against rolling.

These high power electromagnets are ‘H’ yoke magnets which are mounted on a stand which is inclined at 45 degrees. The yoke and poles are forged from high grade iron. It is magnetically soft of low carbon content.

The pole pieces are screwed directly on the yoke which assures best mechanical stability. This construction allows optimum parallity of the pole faces which is the major factor determining improved and reproducibility of field values up to highest field strength.

Energizing coils are located on respective poles. The coils are thermally insulated from the iron circuit with the result that field is practically unaffected by temperature changes. The coil itself is built up in sandwiched technique using several double pancakes which are led separately to the outside. Each double pancake contains one cooling circuit. All cooling circuits are connected in parallel.

A wide range of pole caps are available or use with the basic magnet. Especially for NMR and ESR experiments maximum field strength and highest homogeneity can be obtained. All pole caps are carefully heat treated ground and polished to get necessary precision.
